The Town
West Chester is a historical town featuring beautiful brick sidewalks, more than 150 shops, 50+ restaurants, and many small businesses. Our buildings are located in a walkable community, which provides our clients the opportunity to set the pace of their own lives.
Connecting to the local community is one of the most important aspects of our programs. When a client develops personal relationships with people at their gym, their favorite coffee shop, or their recovery meetings, they build routines that are meaningful for them.
Our approach not only fosters independence but also encourages our clients to take advantage of the opportunities to exercise their agency, cultivating interests, skills, and the confidence essential for long-term recovery.
Education
Southeastern PA is home to over 100 universities, 30 of which are within 20 miles of Synergy. West Chester University, one of Pennsylvania’s top-ranked state schools, is within walking distance from Synergy. Many Synergy clients come to find recovery and end up discovering an interest in continuing education.

Synergy offers seven residency homes designed to guide clients through various phases of their journey and recovery. Our phased approach ensures comprehensive support and guidance in the initial stages, gradually fostering greater independence and agency as clients progress.
The Houses
Men’s Flagship Program
- The Wentworth House: The Wentworth House is the initial stop for all clients entering the Men’s Flagship Program. This phase focuses on establishing stability, embracing recovery structure, building community, and developing the foundation for responsible living. Clients then take meaningful steps toward responsibility outside of recovery, most often through work, school, or community service.
- The Quad House: RThe Quad House serves as a transition point within the Men’s Flagship Program and offers more of an apartment-style environment. It is intended for clients who have demonstrated readiness, stability, and maturity, and who are moving through the back half of the flagship program. Here, clients experience increased autonomy while still receiving the support, guidance, and connection of the Synergy community.
Women’s Flagship Program
- The Women’s Flagship House: This house serves as the entry point for all clients in the Women’s Program, providing a gradual immersion into therapy, support, accountability, and community structure. Clients work toward the same goals of stability, responsibility, and meaningful engagement inside and outside Synergy.
Step-Down & Alumni Houses
- The Collegiate House: The Collegiate House is for graduates of the Men’s Flagship Program, individuals arriving with comparable stability from other recovery continuums, or clients seeking a collegiate-style environment in recovery. This setting supports increased independence, ongoing growth, and meaningful community engagement.
- The Women’s Leadership House: The Women’s Leadership House is designed for alumni of the Women’s Flagship Program who are ready for a more independent living setting while still valuing continued involvement and connection within the Synergy community.
