Gender-Specific Extended Care & Transitional Living Designed to Support Recovery from Co-Occurring & Substance Use Disorders
Community Focused Alcohol & Drug Rehab in Pennsylvania
More Than Treatment. It’s A New Beginning
Synergy is a gender-specific, trauma-informed treatment community that specializes in treating young adult men and women, addressing substance use, trauma, and acute mental health concerns within a long-term continuum of care.
We view the entire environment, daily routines, peer community, staff interactions, and program structure, as a primary therapeutic tool, where every interaction supports co-regulation and helps clients rebuild a stronger sense of self in early recovery.
Through our core pillars of recovery, structure, and community, we provide corrective experiences that foster safety, attunement, and connection while guiding clients to learn, practice, and execute the responsibilities of adulthood. In doing so, we help them translate these skills into the meaningful, stable, and fulfilling life they deserve.
About Synergy
A National Community Solution
Fueled by past struggles with addiction, founder and CEO Timmy Brooks developed the unique community and rehab center that is today, Synergy. His design is a collaborative process for drug, alcohol, and co-occurring disorder treatment. Synergy focuses on evidence-based treatment but also infuses practical lifestyle support and compassionate accountability.
At Synergy, the transition into real life isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation of our model. We are a gender-specific, trauma-informed treatment community specializing in young adult men and women, where clinical care is integrated with the daily responsibilities of adulthood. Through a long-term continuum that blends therapy, structure, community, and real-world skill building, clients learn to participate fully in their lives, repair relationships, build stability, and develop the tools needed for lasting recovery.
Every day, we help our clients focus on the things that matter most: stability, values, accountability, humility, family, the helping of others, and community. Welcome to Synergy!

Levels of Care At Synergy
Our comprehensive continuum of care focuses on meaningful action and long-term sober living. Synergy’s levels of care are a system of attainable benchmarks that translate into tangible treatment progress and the achievement of personal goals. Clients in our men’s and women’s flagship programs engage in the appropriate clinical level of care while participating in an immersive program environment that includes supportive sober living and tailored augmented support throughout their entire experience at Synergy. During both the admissions assessment and the orientation phase, we determine each client’s treatment plan and level of care assignment to ensure they receive the structure, services, and guidance most aligned with their needs.
Intensive Outpatient treatment occurs during a period when clients are gaining stability in their recovery and developing the structure needed to return to work, school, or other real-life responsibilities. In IOP, clients participate in individual sessions with their primary therapist, case management sessions, family therapy, and a range of group therapies, benefiting from the structure and support of our sober living environment.
As clients gain independence, they transition to Outpatient care, where they have increased flexibility in their living and treatment schedules. Outpatient includes individual therapy and group sessions twice a week, allowing clients to work, attend school, and take on leadership roles within the Synergy community while building a stable long-term foundation.
Our structured sober living homes are gender specific and occupied by peers, community leaders, and Synergy staff. Clients benefit from positive accountability, 24/7 support, and practical life skills training. All clients in our men’s and women’s flagship programs reside in structured sober living as part of their immersive treatment experience.
Step-down sober living is ideal for clients who have completed our flagship programs or who demonstrate a similar level of stability, including alumni of our collegiate men’s program and our women’s leadership program. These homes offer increased flexibility while still providing the structure, connection, and guidance needed as clients move toward independent living.
Every client at Synergy is supported by a care team made up of their primary therapist, family therapist, case manager, and psychiatric provider. Across all levels of care, clients participate in individual therapy, weekly case management sessions, ongoing psychiatric care, family therapy, and a small therapeutic group that is attended between two and five times a week.

Timmy created Synergy following his graduation from Cabrini University, motivated by his own experience in addiction and recovery. He built Synergy on the values that he lives by: community, process, and accountability. Aiming to instill these principles in the framework of Synergy, Timmy has emphasized the importance of action throughout the recovery process in order to prepare residents for life after Synergy.

Lizzy Lopez, LPC is the Director of Clinical Operations at Synergy. She helps manage, direct, and develop the clinical program to align with Synergy’s values and clinical philosophy. Due to her deep belief in the profound healing impact of relational repair, if she was able to choose a title it would be ‘Director of Weaving Connections.’ Lizzy found her passion for helping others through her own personal experience with healing and recovery. Her compassionate, direct style was inspired by a clinician that met her in her early recovery experience who reminded her that she is accountable to doing her own work to heal. The inspiration this person provided led to her receiving her Master’s in Professional Clinical Counseling. She started her career working with adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. She then continued her career path working with young adults who had several treatment experiences and recovery attempts. She became skilled at helping clients identify “the why” underneath their desire to self-medicate and self-sabotage. She strives to empower people through accountability, connection, and insight-oriented action to cultivate meaning in life. Her career includes the development of Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for specific populations, which in the past has included an adolescent dual-diagnosis program and a women’s trauma-informed substance abuse program.
