Weekend Intensive

Quarterly, we schedule a weekend and offer a time for families to come together with their loved ones who are in the program. These weekends are times of bonding and healing guided by leaders from our clinical team. During the Family Intensive, families participate in two full days of clinical programming alongside their resident.

Clinical programming during these weekends is multi-faceted. Examples of some activities are:

During the Family Intensive, our goal is to create more connection between our residents and their families to support the healing process for both the client and family. It is not necessary for the entire family to be a part of each weekend intensive; sometimes, only one parent or sibling is in attendance, but this can be a special time for the client to bond with one support person in their life.

Families are asked not to arrive unannounced for a Family Intensive weekend. Instead, residents work with their case manager and therapists to decide when to include their families in the recovery process for maximum impact. Synergy staff will reach out to family members when it is determined that the resident is at the optimal phase of recovery to reconnect with family.
